ROOTS OF EMPATHY:

Baby wanted!  Do you know of a baby 1-3 months old who could be a Roots of Empathy star?  The Roots of Empathy program has been offered at CWAA for the past three years.  Perhaps your child has benefited from this great empathy-building program.  The key component of the program is a willing baby and parent. The Roots of Empathy program connects a class with a baby in a structured and safe environment and allows interaction and observation of the baby to open conversations around empathy, emotional intelligence, communication, child development, safety, etc.  The baby and parent would need to be available to visit the classroom 9 times throughout the school year.  For more information please open the button below.  If interested please contact Melanie Babbitt, Roots of Empathy Instructor, at babbitt1@mac.com.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAPLAIN...

In All Things Giving Thanks

Happy Belated Thanksgiving Chinook Family,
In 1 Thessalonians 5:18 we read  “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”  The word of God teaches that not only during the Thanksgiving season should we be thankful, but in every season of our life we should give thanks. That means even when we feel overwhelmed, stressed, worried and abandoned, we can and must praise God for who He is, His promises and that He will never leave nor forsake us, despite the challenges we may be going through.
Chinook family, I do not know what is going on in your life, but Jesus does, and it is He who is calling us to give thanks, because He knows what expressing thanks can do for us.
Science has proven over and over again that individuals who express thankfulness and gratefulness regularly are happier, more content and have a feeling of well-being far greater than those who focus on the negative and mundane of life.
If science proves this for anyone who is positive, what about those who claim Jesus as Lord and Saviour? We have so much to be grateful for, but above all we must be ever grateful for our Lord and Saviour Jesus.
So let‘s ask God to teach us to find the blessings that are all around us.  God bless and keep each of you.
Keep Thanking!

Your Brother in Jesus,
Paul Antunes
