A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL...

Fear Not. I have Called You By Name. You are Mine.

I have a simple testimony to share today. For the past 42 days I have experienced a serious challenge which has profoundly impacted me - both personally and professionally. Over the weekend, God provided a tremendous release from this challenge.
I praise God because this past week He provided me with incredible strength and deliverance through two independent people - who shared the same Scripture. This Scripture has been a cornerstone of my faith, yet neither individual knew the significance of this Scripture to me personally. Since I became a follower of Jesus at the age of 25, this Bible verse has served as a ‘rock’ in many significant trials in my life. “But now, this is what the Lord says— He who created you, Jacob, He who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)
I praise God that we are called by Him and that we belong to Him. I praise God for His steady faithfulness and His promises that deliver us when we are down. I praise God that He has the power to lift us up out of the pit - out of the mud and mire and set our feet on a rock and gave us a firm place to stand. (Psalms 40:2) I praise God that He hears us and answers our prayers.
"When besieged - I’m calm as a baby. When all hell breaks loose, I’m collected and cool. I’m asking Yahweh for one thing, only one thing: To live with Him in His house my whole life long. I’ll contemplate His beauty; I’ll study at His feet. That’s the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world, The perfect getaway, far from the buzz of traffic. God holds me head and shoulders above all who try to pull me down. I’m heading for His place to offer anthems that will raise the roof! Point me down your highway, Yahweh; direct me along a well-lighted street. I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness in the exuberant earth. Stay with Yahweh! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again; Stay with Yahweh.” (Psalms 27, MSG Bible)
May God answer when you are distressed this week - and may He provide release from your trials, as He did mine today. Hang on. Don’t give up. Do not forget that He has created you, formed you, redeemed you, called you by name - and He has claimed you as His! The storm will pass!

Buy gift cards at face value, get face value at the retailer while at the same time supporting the fundraising group. Please prayerfully consider using FundScrip gift cards for your day to day purchases in place of debit/credit card while at the same time supporting the Belize Mission Trip!  Use the list (button below) and pay at the school office for your order. If you have any questions e-mail me at pantunes@cwaa.net

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAPLAIN...

Refocusing our Life

Dear Chinook Family,
In Colossians 3:23 we read  “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”

Can you imagine that Jesus was only 12 years old when He expressed to His parents - He knew His calling?   Scripture shares that Jesus‘ parents had traveled a days journey back home to Nazareth until they noticed He was missing.   Can you imagine if you were mom or dad realizing your son/daughter wasn‘t actually with family or friends as you expected?   More than that, can you imagine Joseph and Mary saying, we‘ve Lost Jesus, We Lost God?

The race back to Jerusalem and searching must have been intense, frantic, filled with countless prayers and apologies, but finally after 3 days they find Him at the temple with the religious leaders.   Can you imagine that moment that Mary sees Jesus, and what blurts our of her mouth was, “Son, why have you done this to us?   Look, your father and I have sought you anxiously.”  Can you see her tears, sweat and relief, and that look a mom gives to her child?

Jesus‘ reply is simple, yet profound, “Why did you seek Me?  Did you not know that I must be about my Father‘s business?”   I‘m sure Mary & Joseph must have raised their eyebrows and been reminded again, that this Son, was not any normal son.

The bible tells us that Jesus obeyed them and went home with them, but Mary kept this thought in her heart, although she could not yet understand what He meant.

As a boy Jesus clearly sensed His calling, but instead of at that moment recruiting disciples, preaching sermons and performing miracles, He followed His parents home and learned the family business.   What a lesson for us today, if we want to bring focus in life, we too must do what Jesus did - we must go home, love our family and take care of “family” business.

Chinook family before going out and reaching the world, let‘s reach out and love our family right under our roof.

God bless and keep each of us as we remember to keep the proper focus in a world that is trying to derail and distract us from doing our Father‘s business first at home, then outside our home.

Have a blessed week.
